A group of brewers in West Seneca is taking the term “girl power" to a new level.

“Every single aspect of this beer is coming from a female staff,” Kaitlyn Brown, manager at Rusty Nickel Brewing Co. told 7 Eyewitness News.

The team of female brewers will begin to create brew a creation they’ve cleverly named “Estrogen Ale.”

Everything from the recipe to the actual brew process, kegging, carbonation, even the marketing is done with a feminine touch, carried out by the six woman staff at Rusty Nickel.

The albino stout will have a hint of chocolate and is scheduled for release at the end of September.

“It took a lot of time to narrow it down to what we wanted to do because we wanted each beer to represent an aspect of what our goal is,” Brown said. “The Estrogen Ale should be empowering to women and it will definitely spark conversation, which is our whole point.”

Every two months, for the next year, the team will roll out a new brew all part of the FemAle series.

“The style of beer that we’re brewing, we know what the guidelines are for that and we know how certain grains taste, how certain hops taste, and the effects that certain yeasts will have on the beer.”
