Lewiston Police officers and firefighters responded to a report of fire at the New York Power Authority facility Monday morning

Crews were called at 8:30 a.m. to 5777 Lewiston Road in Lewiston. Officials tell 7 Eyewitness News there was a small fire in the switchyard. An instrumentation transformer malfunctioned and burned out, taking two transmission lines out of service.

A fire extinguisher was used on the transformer and power output was shifted to other lines.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Firefighters responded to a fire at the power plant in July.

That fire caused black smoke and flames to come out of a unit of the Robert Moses Power Plant on Lewiston Road.

The incident happened in unit two of the power plant, and a portion of the facility was evacuated.
