BPD make arrest in Thomas Street standoff

UPDATE: Buffalo Police have arrested a 35-year-old Buffalo man in connection to the Wednesday night standoff on Thomas Street.

Ferry-Fillmore officers responded to the call at around 8:15 p.m. of a man making threats to blow up his house.

The man, whose name still hasn't been released, was charged with falsely reporting an incident.

Original: A SWAT situation on Buffalo's east side ended with a man surrendering to police.

7 Eyewitness News was there when the man came out, and police went in to clear the house on Thomas Street near Howard.

People living in the area were evacuated from their homes while the man was inside making threats.  His name has not been released.

Police tell 7 Eyewitness News the man involved in the standoff was taken to ECMC for evaluation.  Police have not said if he will face charges.
