A Buffalo man faces multiple charges in a case of animal cruelty Saturday morning.

Police arrested James Craddock, 46 of Buffalo following an incident where he allegedly stabbed a dog.

According to police, a woman was walking her dog when he exited from the passenger side of a vehicle, exchanged words with her and stabbed the dog.

Craddock, a seasonal park employee for the city, was in a city vehicle at the time of the incident.

South District officers say the incident began near Mineral Spring Road and Frank Avenue and the vehicle, along with Craddock, was found in the 1300 block of South Park Avenue a short time later.

He's been charged with aggravated cruelty to animals and criminal possession of a weapon.

Authorities say the dog was transported to a veterinarian clinic in Orchard Park and was undergoing surgery.

7 EWN has reached out to the owner who has confirmed the dog underwent surgery and is home recovering.
