Woman collapses, dies while in custody of Amherst police

Amherst police are investigating the death of a woman who was in police custody.

Officers said town resident Heather Taylor, 40, was in custody on a bench warrant, and was on her way to town court Tuesday, when she suffered an apparent seizure and collapsed in a hallway.

Officers said first aid was rendered immediately, but Taylor was pronounced dead at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.
