BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — For the Buffalo Sabres, things appear to be going from bad to worse. On Tuesday the Sabres dropped their third consecutive game, falling to the Florida Panthers 4-2. With the loss, the Sabres slip to 28-24-7 on the season.

Jack Eichel opened the scoring for the Sabres, redirecting a pass from Sam Reinhart on the power play in the second period to give Buffalo a 1-0 lead.

Florida responded, turning their third period deficit into a 3-1 lead after three unanswered goals in the first six minutes of the final frame. Jonathan Huberdeau scored the Panthers first, beating Sabres goaltender Linus Ullmark on a breakaway. Jayce Hawryluk scored the go-ahead goal seconds later, converting on a sloppy turnover from Casey Mittelstadt to give the Panthers a 2-1 lead.

Minutes later, Aleksander Barkov scored his 23rd of the season, beating Ullmark from beside the net. Huberdeau scored on a beautiful individual effort in the final minutes, tallying his second goal of the evening to give Florida a 4-1 lead.

Vladimir Sobotka scored the Sabres second goal of the evening [his fourth of the season] with eight seconds left to cut the Panthers lead in half.

The Sabres will now head to Tampa Bay, where they'll finish their three-game road trip against the league-best Lightning on Thursday.
