Just like that, Rasmus Dahlin's trip to the NHL Scouting Combine in Buffalo has come to an end. On Saturday, he completed the workout portion of the combine, the final phase of the nearly week-long event.

"Yeah, it was fun," Dahlin said after his workouts. "The wingate [test] was pretty tough, so yeah, I'm glad it's over and done with."

Dahlin admits he didn't train specifically for any of the events he participated in at the combine but says he feels stronger now than he did at this time last year. Back in Sweden, Dahlin often trains by running hills in Gothenburg to prepare for the hockey season.

"Probably [It helps] most mentally. You can't give up. It's good for your legs and good for everything"

For the second straight day, Dahlin danced around questions tying the consensus No. 1 player available in the upcoming draft to the Sabres. However, he once again reiterated that he would love to play in Western New York.

"Like I said yesterday, we'll see what happens," Dahlin added. "But if I come to this city I'm going to be so excited. I've heard so many great things about the city with all the fans, that they're amazing and that kind of stuff, so, if that happens, I'm going to be so glad."

Apparently the excitement to try the local specialty couldn't wait until he's officially a Sabre. Earlier in the week, Dahlin said he went and got chicken wings.

"It was good, but, I probably got them a little too spicy. I've got to go with the mild next time."

He gets a pass, as long as he didn't use ranch.

Dahlin says he'll now head home to Sweden after he makes his way to Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday. Then it's back to training, and getting ready for the upcoming NHL Draft. And while nothing is certain, the next time he has chicken wings, chances are he'll officially be a member of the Buffalo Sabres.
