Phil Housley won't say who the Buffalo Sabres are taking with the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NHL Draft, but he's confident the Sabres will get their guy.

"I'm sure he [Jason Botterill] is going to make the right choice," Housley said while cracking a smile at the Jim Kelly Charity Golf Classic on Monday. "We're excited to have the No. 1 pick, obviously. It's going to be a special player. I'm really excited, winning the lottery was huge for us. I just had this sense we were going to get that pick..."

Housley spoke with reporters for one of the first times since the Sabres officially landed the top-selection in late April.

"The Draft lottery was awesome, it really gives our fans hope" Housley added. "There is a lot of pressure on a No. 1 pick. So we're going to have to protect him and put him in the right areas but obviously, he's going to be a player that has an impact on our team."

Consensus Rasmus Dahlin is spending Monday in Washington DC for Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final between the Washington Capitals and Vegas Golden Knights. After the game, he'll head back to Sweden and train, before returning to North America for the NHL Draft on Friday, June 22.
