In his junior year on the Lancaster football team, Ryan Mansell broke the school record for most passing yards in a season.

A year later, he's broken another record, becoming the school's all-time leading passer.

"I really didn't know until actually Media Day at the Ralph," Mansell said. "Coach Rupp put on the program packet that I was 94 yards away and I didn't know during the game but I had an idea after the game that I had gotten more than 94 and it's just an honor."

Ryan has been a dominant voice on the Varsity squad all season and likes stepping up when he needs to.

"I love being a leader," he said. "That's one thing that I've done since I was younger and I really embrace that and I was happy this year to have a better chance to be a bigger leader and go out there and win some football games."

The Legends have won more than just some football games.

Lancaster is perfect on the year and will be competing in the Western Regionals Saturday night after their Sectional win last weekend.

It's been a year to remember but also bittersweet as the days of football are growing shorter.

"The mentality is we're fighting for our life. We're fighting for our last football game and I don't want it to end," said Mansell. "I want this to be three more weeks and I'm doing everything I can to make it three more weeks and I know our team is too."

Ryan's senior season will be his last playing football competitively.

He's planning on playing baseball collegiately at Brockport.
