It's pretty rare when one of your starting pitchers is one of your most consistent batters but that's the case for Kenmore West.

"I didn't think that I would be able to do this playing little league," said Andrew Fron, a pitcher for Kenmore West. "Being able to throw as hard as I can and move the ball as much as I can."

Fron is a senior with the Blue Devils baseball team and has been a huge factor on defense. As of Monday, he has a 3-0 record on the mound that includes a .677 ERA, 50 strikeouts and just three earned runs in 31 innings pitched.

That's just half of what he can do.

"It's another weapon," said Kenmore West head coach John Haynes. "Besides being a pitcher on the mound, you have another person who's going to succeed at the plate. We struggled at the beginning of the year at the plate and he's really come around in the last two weeks as you've seen in the stats that he's put up."

Stats like the following: a .341 batting average along with four home runs, nine runs scored, and 16 RBI.

Fron is an all-around impact player and likes to be relied on when his team needs him the most.

"Being the four hitter, you have to come through at times," Fron said. "Getting the one pitch that you can hit and get a few RBIs, it's good."

His career is far from over. Fron is headed to Canisius College next season to play baseball for the Golden Griffs. He's hoping it'll be a continuation of a long baseball career.

"Throughout my life I've been saying I love baseball, I love this game," he said. 'It's given me an opportunity to do what I love most."
