His name is heard quite a bit on the football field, the basketball court and the lacrosse field. It's safe to say Jesse Broad spends a lot of time playing athletics at West Seneca West.

"I have my family at home but here, is where I spend most of my time. All the players I know, all the students I know, it's just a great place to be."

Broad is currently a senior on the lacrosse team and is having a season to remember. In a game last week he scored his 82nd career goal, breaking a program record that was set nearly a decade ago (2006-2009) by John Pingitore.

"I got off the sidelines and my coach congratulated me," Broad said. "I was like, oh, wow, that feels nice to be the all-time leading goal scorer."

But that's not all.

Broad is the team's current leader in both goals and points and is on pace to break the single-season record for goals as well.

He's always been one of their top players. In both his sophomore and junior seasons he finished in the top three among the team in both goals and points, but he's more than just an athlete.

"The career points and the career goals and possibly the single season goal record is a plus but he's just a great leader," said West Seneca West lacrosse coach Bob Tulowiecki.  "He does the things you want him to do and if you can have a bunch of him year in and year out, it would make coaching a little easier."

Broad is headed to SUNY Brockport after graduation where he'll continue his lacrosse career. Right now though, he's savoring his time with his teammates and says this brotherhood is something he'll miss.

"This is the best team we've had in years," Broad said. "We're all so close. We do everything together and it's great to be a part of this team."
