SANBORN, N.Y. (WKBW) — Since the beginning of the season, the Niagara County Community College women's basketball team has been living by three words: "determined to dominate". They're 17 games into the season are doing just that.

"We're not winning games at the buzzer, we're not winning games on luck or on calls or fluke," said head coach Nate Beutel. "They've done a really nice job of adhering to that thus far."

The Thunderwolves are a perfect 17-0 on the season and are nationally ranked in the NJCAA polls. This program has come a long way over the last few years.

"We play hard for 40 minutes," said sophomore Shilah Parker. "We rebound the ball well, we have a lot of talent on this team."

The numbers speak volumes. The Thunderwolves are beating their opponents by an average of more than 40 points a game. They're also an unselfish squad, averaging nearly 25 assists as a team. They know they have something special but also know there's still one big goal in mind.

"We have not won a regional title," Beutel said. "We've finished second in the region the last three seasons. We're proud of that but at that same time, we have one more thing to conquer and that's a regional title. I do feel like this group has the ability to do so."

"It would be huge for this program," said freshman Paige Emborsky on winning the region. "We've been waiting for this for so long and I think that we have to be proud of what we've done. We can still play our best basketball at the end of the season."

The Thunderwolves will once again put their perfect record on the line when they hit the road for two games this weekend.
