Hilbert women win AMCC championship, headed to NCAA DIII Tournament

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — For the second year in a row, the Hilbert College women's basketball team is headed to the NCAA DIII Tournament.

The Hawks, who are 22-5, will play at Messiah College (Mechanicsville, PA) in the first round of the postseason tournament. They learned their fate during a selection show Monday afternoon. The Falcons are 26-1 on the year and went perfect in their conference.

The Hawks beat Penn State Behrend 65-55 on Sunday to secure their second consecutive Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship Title. Emily Gawlak posted a game-high 02 points and grabbed a team-best eight rebounds. Katelyn Proy added 17 points in the win. Both were named to the 2018-19 All-Tournament team.
