Erie, Niagara teams set to compete in NJCAA Basketball Tournaments

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — Three area junior college basketball teams are headed to the national stage. The SUNY Erie men and Niagara County Community College men and women will all be competing in their respective NJCAA Tournaments in the next coming week. All Tournaments are double-elimination format.

In the NJCAA Division II men's bracket, both SUNY Erie and NCCC will be playing in Danville, Illinois. SUNY Erie is the 4th overall seed and will be playing 13th seed Morton in their first round game on Tuesday, March 19th at 10:00 a.m. EDT. The Katz finished the regular season with a 25-4 record.

NCCC is the 9th overall seed and will be playing 8th seed Wake Tech in their first round game on Tuesday, March 19th at 7:30 p.m. EDT. The Thunderwolves finished their regular season with a 26-8 record.

In the NJCAA Division II women's bracket, NCCC will be playing in Harrison, Arkansas. NCCC is the 5th overall seed and will be playing 12th seed Sinclair in their first round game on Wednesday, March 20th at 2:00 p.m. EDT. The Tunderwolves finished the regular season with a perfect 31-0 record.
