BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) — For the first time in program history, the Daemen men's basketball team is headed to the NCAA DII Tournament.

The Wildcats, despite losing in the ECC semifinal round Saturday evening, received an at-large bid after going 24-5 during the regular season and 16-2 in conference play. It's their first bid in their fourth season of postseason eligibility at the Division II level.

Daemen has earned the 5th seed in the East Region and will take on 4th seed New Haven in the first round. That game is set for Saturday, March 16th. All region games will be played in Manchester, New Hampshire.

The winners of the eight regional tournaments will advance to the Elite Eight in Evansville, Indiana.
