The Canisius men's lacrosse team won't be traveling very far for their first NCAA Tournament game.

The Golden Griffins will host Robert Morris in a play-in game this Wednesday on their home turf, the first time they'll be playing at home in the NCAA postseason.

"Knowing that you're gonna be bringing a team here into our home, into our area and knowing we're gonna have the home court advantage, all the pressure is gonna be on them, it's not gonna be on us," said sophomore Mathieu Boissonneault. "It's exciting."

"I'm so excited to be able to showcase our program, our school and our city," added head coach Mark Miyashita. "I think it's definitely gonna be nice to have the guys sleeping in their own beds and eating their own food, so I think it'll definitely help us in our preparation."

The winner of the Canisius/Robert Morris game will advance to the 16-team bracket and will play #1 overall seed Maryland.

Canisius earned a spot in the NCAA Tournament field after winning the MAAC title in overtime against Detroit Mercy. It was the program's third conference title and first since 2012.
