Buffalo scored 19-unanswered points late in the fourth quarter, but the magic from Tyrod Taylor was too little, too late in a 40-32 loss to New England on Sunday.

After marching down the field on their opening drive to score a touchdown, the crowd in Ralph Wilson Stadium was quickly quieted by future Hall of Fame Coach Bill Belichick and quarterback Tom Brady, who threw for 466 yards, the most ever against the Bills. He also tossed three touchdowns.

"This loss is squarely on one man's shoulders. It's on my shoulders," Head Coach Rex Ryan said after the loss. "Yeah, we have to get better as a team, there's no question. But I have to get better. Belichick out-coached me, there is no question about it. That's how it ended up. It's unfortunate. The plan has to be better on defense. You can't give up 500 yards and beat anybody."

Hampering the Bills throughout the game were penalties. Buffalo was flagged 14 times for 140 yards, including five personal foul calls.

"You know, they're getting penalties and other stuff, they converted a lot. Obviously you get Brady on a day when he was hot, shoo, that's ugly," Rex added. "I've got to do a better job. We turned some guys loose, and obviously, he doesn't need any help. That's for dang sure."

After a week of hype and build up against the Super Bowl champs, players downplayed the rhetoric after the game.

"I think it had the right amount of hype around it it's a division game very important for our season but it's still a long season," Taylor said. "As a team we have to learn from this game and move forward."

"I don't think this game is over-hyped or anything we are talented we just pretty much need to get rid of the penalties," linebacker Nigel Bradham added.

"I don't think there was too much emotion I don't think it was over-hyped. We're really good team," running back Boobie Dixon said. "I think the officiating got in between a great game today."

Safety Aaron Williams left the game in the fourth quarter after suffering a neck injury while tackling Julian Edelman. He was immobilized on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital in an ambulance. On social media his father said he was able to move his extremities

Ryan falls to 4-10 lifetime against the Patriots, while the Bills fall to 1-1 on the season. They'll on the road for the first time next Sunday, traveling for another AFC showdown against the Miami Dolphins.
