Bills fire offensive coordinator Rick Dennison after one season

(WKBW) - Despite a playoff appearance in 2017, the Buffalo Bills struggled mightily on offense. And for that reason, and likely many others, the Bills will be looking for a new direction for the 2018 season.

On Friday, the Bills officially announced that they’ve fired offensive coordinator Rick Dennison, after just one season with the team. The team will open up their search for a new person to fill the position — and to lead the offense in 2018 and beyond.

Under Dennison’s watch, the Bills took a big step back with the same quarterback, running back, and most of the offensive line still in place.

In that lone season, the offensive statistics suffered for the Buffalo Bills. They ranked 29th in the league in total yards (302.6 yards per game) and 22nd in scoring (18.9 points per game), while averaging an abysmal 176.6 passing yards per game.
