WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Village of Williamsville's largest development project in more than 100 years will cost an estimated $30 million, covering six acres on California Drive.

The project, which is dubbed Asher Crossing, is being done by Natale Development Co, who will be competely transforming the plot of land into 120 different units of residential space.

The space of land on California Drive has been vacant for years, and neighbors are ready for a change.

"Very happy that something is being done" Neighbor Jack Duffy said.

There are some nerves, however, that the increased residential space will make for traffic nightmares.

"We're a little worried about what the apartments will do to the local traffic" Williamsville Deputy Mayor Basil Piazza said.

The developers say that by having the parking in the back, that should alleviate any issues.

Construction should last between 12 and 18 months, with people able to move in late 2019.
