On Monday, the Buffalo Planning Board voted to approve a brand new 130,000 square foot mixed-use facility on the corner of Main and Dodge in downtown Buffalo.

"We're building quality buildings that are centered around good urban planning principles which is what we're doing here with this project" Cedarland Development VP Kevin Dahger said.

The mixed-use facility will cost more than $25 million dollars, and will house 215 apartments (ranging from studio, to two bedroom) while also having three commercial spaces available on the first floor.

The building will be built in the shadows of the medical corridor which developers hope attracts students to a parcel of land that was once "an eye sore".

"This is big for the area the community and the medical campus obviously, it's pretty close to there as well."

Construction will begin in March of 2019, with a completion date of July of 2020.
