Wanted Jamestown man arrested

Chautauqua County Sheriff's announced the arrest of a wanted Jamestown man early Saturday morning.

Deputies observed a subject who was wanted by the State of Pennsylvania on a probation violation charge, leave a business operating a vehicle and stopped him on Howard Avenue in the Town of Ellicott.

Officials say after investigation they confirmed he was the wanted subject, Andrew L. Nygren, 23, of Jamestown, who was also operating the vehicle on a suspended license.

Further investigation led to a K9 search of the vehicle in which deputies were alerted to narcotics in the vehicle.

Nygren was charged with criminal possession of controlled substance in the seventh degree, aggravated unlicensed operator third degree and no/inadequate sideview mirror.

He was remanded to the Chautauqua County Jail with bail set on the new charges and held without bail as a fugitive.
