Two mothers killed 48 hours apart on Buffalo's East Side.  Friday night, their lives celebrated in two separate vigils.

Community leader Billie Webster attended Santana Anderson's vigil. The 26-year-old was gunned down on Hagen Street August 4th.

Miles away, a similar sentiment at the celebration of Lakendra Tillmon's life.  She left behind five children who witnessed her murder.

Emotions on high with dozens in attendance to support both late mothers.  For organizations like Buffalo Peacemakers, the message is clear.

Pastor Giles said that it's not a question of people not coming forward, rather people being fearful of following through with their tips.

"If you see something, say something and then do something.  That's how we're ultimately going to rid this community of this travesty," Pastor Giles said.

Webster agrees, saying that the community needs to do it's part to curb the violence.
