The University at Buffalo has received a $649,000 grant to develop sexual assault prevention programs that train friends to take action.

According to the National Sexual Violence Resource Center, "one in five women will experience unwanted sexual contact while attending college." It's that statistic that brought UB to develop the new sexual assault training.

The training will give students the proper techniques and knowledge to be able to talk to their friends about potential assaults that could occur, while also urging them to seek proper help.

After the training is finished the students will complete online assessments to see how their habits have changed. This will lay the ground work for future sexual assault prevention programs on campus.
