Donald Trump knows if there's a sure way to connect with the people of Buffalo, it's through football.

Introduced by Bills Head Coach Rex Ryan at First Niagara Center, the GOP front runner announced "I'm going to be rooting for the Buffalo Bills. Believe me."

Trump reminded the crowd of approximately 11,400 supporters about his failed bid for the Buffalo Bills in 2014, albeit with a different tone than he displayed back then.

"You have great owners," Trump said.

"I'll tell you, you're going to have a very, very great season."

Trump went on to talk about his ideas for the presidency, including bringing jobs back to Buffalo and the United States.

"Here's what's happening.  We're making horrible deals.  We have people who don't know what they're doing."

Trump also took jabs at his political opponents, nicknaming Texas Senator Ted Cruz and Democratic front runner Hillary Clinton "Lyin' Ted" and "Crooked Hillary," respectively.  He offered no nickname for Ohio Governor John Kasich or Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

Responding to Cruz' comments about "New York values", Trump used the tireless efforts of first responders from 9/11 to define the values of his home state.

"Every small act of kindness... those are New York values."

On the final full day of campaigning before the New York Primary, Trump reminded supporters of his plan to build a wall at the US-Mexico border.

"This is the Great Wall of Trump I guess, I don't know."

Within the first ten minutes of his speech, at least two people were dragged out of the arena by security. In all, the Buffalo Police Department says 21 people were ejected. Meantime, outside, hundreds of protesters carrying signs and posters shouted anti-Trump sentiments.

According to the BPD, six people were arrested, mainly for disorderly conduct and trespassing.

Recent polls show Donald Trump holds a strong lead in New York heading into Tuesday's Primary.
