New York State Police arrested an 18-year-old man Friday in connection to a fire back in April that investigators determined was intentionally started.

Joshua Monette, of Farmersville, is charged with Arson and Criminal Mischief. He was arrested in May in connection to the abduction of a 12-year-old girl.

In April 21, 2017, Troopers investigated a fire on Huyck Road in the Town of Farmersville where a seasonal camp and two trailers were destroyed by fire. The damages were estimated at $50,000.

Four days later, New York State Police posted a public assistance press release compiled with the ongoing BCI investigation which resulted in the arrest of Monette.

The 18-year-old was arraigned at the Town of Machia Court. He was out on bail for $75,000 from the amber alert arrest on May 23.
