It looks like the worlds biggest and best organized garage sale, but this stuff is not for sale. Welcome to Buffalo Props started by David Butler as more and more movies were being made here in Western New York. He says "it just started to snowball, now it's been sixteen films in four years."
David has been scene designing in theatre for over thirty years, but now that buffalo has become "Hollywood East" the picture business is keeping him pretty busy. He says with all the other support services that are building up locally "it's putting us in the situation like Atlanta or North Carolina, some of the cities that have become big movie towns.
With his two partners Amy Kempf and Seth Black, they can track down or make most anything needed for the movies. David turned up a 1938 phone booth and piles of period law books for the movie "Marshall".
David Butler continues to work with theatres and special events, and will leave to go to Syracuse to work on another film. You can find Buffalo Props on Facebook and at their website.
