The Franciscan Center in South Buffalo is closing its doors May 1.

Father Joseph Bayne says the center, which helps troubled young boys is closing due to lack of need. He says the kids aren't seeking the help they once were.

The South Buffalo staple opened its doors in 1980. Over the 38 years the Franciscan Center has operated, it has helped 4,000 young men.

Father Joe says in 2017 it only helped 18, and it hasn't had a resident in over 2 months.
