It's a celebration for many at the menorah lighting ceremony in Amherst.

For Andra Beth Oshman of North Tonawanda, it’s that and more. “It's the season of miracles and I'm hoping for one,” she said.

The mom of two has been out of work for more than a year after getting hurt on the job. “I'm financially trying to make $87.74 a week last for all of us.” She said attending Sunday’s ceremony on Maple Road offered a break from that reality. “It's been a rough year for us, and just the whole story of Chanukah and the miracle of the oil lasting is speaking to me at the moment.”

There will be a menorah lighting ceremony at Thursday at 7 P.M. at Canalside.
