Everyone remembers the crackle of the loudspeaker during the morning announcements.
While that sound still fills the classrooms at Sweet Home High School the district is changing the game.

Every morning students along with a few staff members produce a live five minute newscast aired after first period.
Teachers say this is a great way to acclimate students to technology and give them experience in public speaking, which translates to almost every profession.
It features two anchors who rotate throughout the week along with a teleprompter operator, producer and director.
The newscast is then posted on the district website and replayed on a loop on the TV's in the main lobby.
