More than 350,000 students have participated in the King Arthur Flour 'Bake for good' program since 1992.
Over the past week, King Arthur Flour has visited a number of Western New York schools, giving kids bread kits. The kits have enough for two loaves of bread. In making the bread, students will learn STEM-related skills and spend time with their family members.
One loaf of bread the students make will be for them to keep and the other will be donated to a local food pantry or soup kitchen.
Students at Mill Middle School will donate their loaves of bread to the Buffalo City Mission. Students from Mill Middle's group called 'The Herd', a club made up of three organizations, arranges school fundraisers, school spirit events and does community service projects. Student members of 'The Herd' helped create the bread kits for the 5th and 6th graders.
