Don’t expect cheaper rent prices anytime soon in Western New York. According to Apartmentlist.com, rents are on the rise in Buffalo.

It’s at 3-percent year over year growth while the national average is just under 2-percent. Right now the average rent in Buffalo is between $900 and $1,200. Hunts Realtor Kathy Anderson said there are several reasons for the rise in rents. One of the reasons is high demand and low supply.

“The price of buying a rental unit has increased. So the landlords are paying more money. Taxes have gone up,” Anderson said.

Anderson says the good apartments always go fast. You really need to know when they are available, get out there to see them, and be ready.
