New York State Police have identified a body found in a tributary to the Wappinger Creek in February 2018.

The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Brooklyn native Ashanti Moore. A State Police investigation found from August to September 2017 (prior to her death), Moore had traveled through or stayed in the areas of:

  • the Hudson Valley
  • Binghamton
  • Buffalo
  • Pennsylvania

Police say Moore could have also spent time in the Chattanooga, Signal Mountain and Red Bank areas of Tennesee, as well as Rossville, Georgia.

State Police are looking to speak to anyone who may have come in contact with Moore during her travel. Anyone with information should contact State Police at (845) 677-7300.
