City of Tonawanda Police say a Buffalo man tried to get out of a traffic ticket by lying to them, and saying his daughter was in the hospital.

Police say 29-year-old Robin Blassinggame was stopped at 2:30 a.m. on December 2nd on Delaware Street for speeding and failure to signal.  He told police that he had to get to a Cheektowaga hospital, because his daughter fell down the stairs.  Police say when they pulled him over, they found a baggie of what was likely cocaine on the floor of his car, as well as an open beer in the center console.

After checking his DMV record, police saw he had a revoked status on his license following a DWI in 2014.  He also had six suspensions on his license.  Police questioned him about his daughter, and determined he was lying, and hoping to be let go.

Blassinggame is facing four misdemeanor charges including falsely reporting an incident, criminal possession of a controlled substance and conspiracy charges.  He's also facing four traffic charges.  He also had a warrant out for his arrest stemming from an assault charge.  He was arrested and held on $500 bail.
