University at Buffalo police are investigating an attempted sexual assault on the North Campus.

Police say the sex assault happened around 2:30 a.m. Monday, near the Millard Fillmore Academic Center.  This is right off of Core Road.

The victim is a female student.

In an alert posted on the University's website, police report they are looking for two tall black men, of medium build.

UB sent out an alert at approximately 3:30 a.m., notifying the community about the possible incident. They say they texted and e-mailed 45,000 faculty, staff, and students.

"I don't feel safe, mainly because we get these e-mails all the time," said UB senior Sasha Joseph. "We get them what? Every week almost. It never becomes real until it's you, so I don't feel safe."

Other students are thankful for receiving the alerts.

"I think it's actually really great the school is letting us know," said Alfred Chan. "I'm sorry to hear there have been incidents happening but I'm still glad the school is still updating us regarding that."

UB also says they have increased patrols on the North Campus, and are continuing to investigate. Something students say they have been wanting for some time now.

"I feel like if UB police did more patrols around campus, then maybe the attack could've been prevented," said UB sophomore Alexander Pazik.

If you have any information about the assault, call University Police at 645-2222.
