Police investigate deadly shooting in South Buffalo

Buffalo police tell 7 Eyewitness News a man has died in a shooting on Pries Avenue in South Buffalo.

Police were called to Pries Avenue and Hopkins Street about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A spokesman tells us the victim was shot "multiple times" and was pronounced dead at the scene. Detectives say the victim appears to be in his mid-20s.

Our breaking news photographer saw a sheet over a body at the scene.

It was taped off for some time as police searched for evidence.

Neighbors told our crew about hearing several loud pops.

Police have not released any other information about a suspect or any arrests.

At this point, the victim has not been identified.

We don't know if any evidence was collected at the scene.

AMR dispatchers tell us they did not transport anyone from the scene to the hospital.
