More than 50 felines suffering a myriad of diseases were removed from an animal rescue in West Seneca Monday afternoon.

The Erie County SPCA accompanied by the health department and law enforcement executed a search warrant at "Bob The Cat Animal Rescue" on Creekview Drive after receiving several complaints about cats not being cared for.

On site, investigators say they found more than 50 cats suffering from severe upper respiratory infections, ringworm, conjunctivitis and worse. There were also an estimated 12-20 feral cats on the property.

The owner, Donna Canorro, is no stranger to the SPCA. Investigators have visited her home around once a year for the past 11 years, each time administering care to cats she has taken in. The SPCA estimates they've cared for more than 500 of Canorro's cats since November 2004.

Charges are pending against her in this latest case.
