A Buffalo man is facing a series of identity theft related charges after Orchard Park Police in the City of Buffalo.

Orchard Park Police say Nicholas C. Forehand, 32, stole the identity of a 41-year-old Orchard Park man and opened up several credit cards in the man's name. The credit cards were issued by big box type stores and investigators say Forehand racked up over $10,000 in purchases on the fraudulent cards.

In addition to the identity theft charges, Forehand is also accused of possessing and driving a car that was stolen from Amherst in early September.

In total, Forehand has been charged with third degree unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, fourth degree criminal possession of stolen property, first degree identity theft, third degree grand larceny, two counts of second degree identity theft and three counts of second degree forgery.

Forehand was held for arraignment and later transported to the Erie County Holding Center after he was unable to post bail. The case is currently under investigation and additional charges are pending.
