Niagara Falls Police say they found drugs, weapons and cash inside the home of a man who was shot during a police raid Wednesday night.

Police executed a search warrant at a home on the 400 block of 20th Street around 8:15 p.m.  When they arrived at the house, they say the shooting victim, 33-year-old Stacey Lewis, had an illegal semi-automatic gun in his hands.  Police say officer Thomas Rodgers then shot Lewis in the stomach.

Lewis is currently in stable condition at ECMC.  Rodgers was put on administrative leave, which police say is standard in this type of incident.  He is a military veteran, and an 8-year-veteran of the force.

When police searched the home, they found 6 bags of cocaine, heroin, an assault rifle and $2,000.  Police say Lewis was a known felon, and that he had been convicted of drug-related crimes in the past.

Lewis was arraigned by a Niagara Falls City Court judge while in the Erie County Medical Center and ordered held without bail.
