All power is back on in Elma, Friday morning, after a driver crashed into a power pole late Thursday night.  The car caught fire.

The crash was on Seneca Street and North Star Road, about 11:00 p.m. Thursday.  The area was closed for some time but then reopened.

Erie County Sheriff's spokesman Scott Zylka released a statement, eight hours after the crash, explaining 50-year-old Michael Parsons, of East Aurora, was arrested and charged with DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle and operating his car without a court-ordered interlock device.

Deputies were first dispatched for a reckless driver.  When they arrived at the scene they found Parsons out of the car and learned his license was revoked for a prior DWI conviction.

Firefighters say the driver was taken to Erie County Medical Center.  The spokesman for the Sheriff says the man was not seriously hurt.

Eyewitnesses tell us the man was in handcuffs when he was in the ambluance.

Parsons is being held at the Erie County Holding Center until he is arraigned.
