Plans for Buffalo's Outer Harbor are back in the spotlight. The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation will discuss important developments relative to the future of the Outer Harbor during a meeting on Wednesday.

Sources tell 7 Eyewitness News anchor Jeff Russo that the main focus of the latest blueprint will be to develop the south end of the Outer Harbor. That area consists of roughly fifty acres called Terminals A and B near the former Nanodynamics.

Another focus will be on "lighter, quicker, cheaper" projects. 7 Eyewitness News reported weeks ago that the ECHDC was embracing projects that will enhance the overall experience for visitors to the Outer Harbor. Projects such as expanding bike lanes, adding benches, and additional lighting are expected be included in future plans.

It is also anticipated that future development plans for the Outer Harbor will see more collaboration between New York State and the City of Buffalo.

Full details of the latest blueprint have not been released but 7 Eyewitness News will have the latest information on the future of the Outer Harbor on Wednesday.
