On the same day an old building in Buffalo is taken down, State DOT crews will be busy putting up a new pedestrian bridge in another part of the city.

Crews have been working on the new Peace Bridge plaza for months and part of those plans include a bridge that will go over I-190 and the CSX tracks.

The bridge will be set in place Saturday night between 10 p.m. and midnight. It spans 186-feet and is 25-feet tall. It will be a part of the shoreline trail and provide an overlook to the Niagara River and Lake Erie.

The bridge will be open to the public by summer 2016. It is part of the $56 million improvement plan to the Peace Bridge plaza.
