Southtowns donut and dessert lovers are rejoicing -- Paula's Donuts has moved in!

The business just opened up its third location on Thursday. This location is in West Seneca -- and its Paula's Donuts first time in the Southtowns.

On Thursday, opening day, customers waited in long lines outside of the business. On Friday, the crowd kept coming!

"It's absolutely crazy, but exciting," says Kelly Jaskowiak, a manager and baker who has worked at the western New York's popular donut franchise since day one.

Workers have been racing to keep up with orders of constant customers. "We're moving double time," Jaskowiak says.

Before, Southtowns residents had a bit of a haul to get their hands on Paula's -- but many of them made the trip.

"It's a big draw," says Gary, an early morning customer. "I just like coming here!"

"I've like them since they were in Kenmore," added Eric, who was up before 6:00 a.m. to buy donuts for his mother.

The donuts popularity with Southtowns residents is part of why owner Paula Huber wanted to open up shop south of Buffalo.

"She wanted to expand her business, and it was just the vote of the people," Jaskowiak explains.

Paula's Donuts asked social media followers to weigh in on where the next location should be.

"People wanted West Seneca," Jaskowiak says. "She figured that so many people from this area travel to Tonawanda, Buffalo to get her donuts that she would bring it back to them."

The new Paula's employs 115 people. That includes people waiting in customers, finishing donuts, baking donuts, cleaning and getting coffee.

The newest Paula's Donuts is in the Southgate Plaza on Union Road in West Seneca.
