Video footage posted by Rumble.com shows RSPCA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) inspectors rescuing a mare and her foal from the approaching tide on the Loughor Estuary marshland in Gower, South Wales.
The pony became immobile after her back hoof became caught in a matted tangle of her mane.
