The hints are getting stronger that President-elect Donald Trump will not pursue charges against Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Trump had said at the second debate that if he won, he would tell his attorney general to get a special prosecutor to look into Clinton.

Trump, however, called for a time of healing after winning the presidential election and credited Clinton for her campaign. But the strongest signal came out Tuesday morning when Trump's former campaign manager Kellyanne Conway said Trump would not pursue charges.

"I think when the President-elect, who's also the head of your party, tells you before he's even inaugurated that he doesn't wish to pursue these charges, it sends a very strong message, tone, and content" to fellow Republicans, Conway said in an interview on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

Clinton faced scrutiny over her use of a private email server as well as questions about the nonprofit Clinton Foundation.
