A Florida Highway Patrol trooper came to the rescue of a traveler in need, but it's not who you expect.

Trooper Julio Velez had his dash cam rolling. The Bald Eagle had been hit by a Jeep, but was standing on the shoulder. For some time, the trooper sized up what to do next. The first attempt didn't work so well because of all of the wing flapping, but eventually he got a new grip and scurried back to his patrol car with the eagle.

The eagle must have known it was a safe spot, because it stayed put while the trooper took it to animal control.

The eagle is now with the experts at Audubon Birds of Prey. Amazingly, the bird didn't have any broken bones.
