An inmate facing murder and robbery charges is now facing more charges after deputies at the Erie County Holding Center found two shivs in his jail cell.

Jamell Chapman is in the Erie County Holding Center waiting for his murder trial to start.  The 26-year-old from Niagara Falls is accused of killing Buffalo restaurant owner Upendra Bawa in July of 2016.  His trial is set to start March 1st.

Deputies in the Erie County Holding Center say they found the two shivs hidden in Chapman's cell.  They were made from sharpened plastic and fastened with cloth.  He's now charged with felony possession of dangerous contraband in prison.  He'll also face disciplinary action.
