More New York Air National Guard members are headed to Texas to help in the response to record-breaking flooding.

A search and rescue aircraft with 15 airmen from the 106th Rescue Wing headed to Fort Hood Tuesday.  On Thursday, a regional medical plans officer will join them to help in the evacuation and transportation of patients from local hospitals.

Already 104 Airmen from New York State are in the area along with rescue helicopters and watercraft.  Governor Cuomo tweeted Tuesday night that he was proud New Yorkers could be on the ground in Texas to lend support in very difficult circumstances.
