A Buffalo man admitted Thursday to his role in a drunk driving crash that left a driver paralyzed.

Reyome crashed his pickup into the back of a vehicle driven by 37-year-old John Reinard after midnight on September 16, 2016. Reyome then drove away form the Harlem Road scene, but stalled in a nearby neighborhood.

Reyome fled on foot when police responded. He was later captured and a test revealed his blood alcohol content at ,14%, almost twice the lefal limit.

Reinard is now paralyzed from the waist down as a result of the crash.

Reyome faces a maximum of 1 and 1/3 to 4 years in prison when he is sentenced in June.
