UPDATE: The Niagara Falls Police Department reported the man's vehicle struck a CSX railroad signal control box and tracks before becoming airborne, and striking a National Grid pole.
Orginial: An 85-year-old Niagara Falls man has died in a late night crash in the Falls.
Niagara Falls police say it appears the man had a medical emergency before the crash.
The driver, who has not been identified, drove off Whitmer Road, hit the railroad tracks on the other side of Hyde Park and went airborne. Police say the driver crashed into a pole.
The man was taken to Mount St. Mary's hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say they are still investigating this crash.
