The Erie County Fair kicked off August 8 and although it was a rainy day many came out to enjoy the opening day at the fair.

The trip didn't come cheap. We broke down the numbers.

Starting with parking. It will cost you $10 to park  on or near fairgrounds.

But, there are a few ways you can save on admission to the fair. It's typically $10, but if you come before 11 a.m. or to Channel 7 Day on August 14th - you can get in for half that.

Here's something important to plan for if walking isn't an option for you. Renting a scooter will set you back $55.

Food is where most are breaking the bank. We asked around, and on average, people are spending between $50 to $90 on snacks, desserts, and drinks for the day.

Pro Tip: Get a refillable drink cup and look for "buy some, get some" free food bundle deals.

Games and ride tickets are sold in bundles. We looked into it and while the ticket salespeople say most will spend about $20 on tickets, the best deal is to shell out $50 and you'll get 3x the amount of tickets.

In all, per person, you need to be prepared to spend at least $80 and at most plan on spending over $200 for a day at the Erie County Fair.
